Are you planning a Summer wedding? Or maybe you are to be a bridesmaid at a friend's wedding, or you have an invitation to a wedding.
For any of these you will undoubtedly be thinking about your outfit for the day and choosing the shoes you will wear will be high on
the list of priorities. For a Summer wedding high heel wedding sandals are the perfect
choice to set off a wonderful wedding or bridesmaid's dress or your new outfit. So how do you choose from the many styles and colours
available?
The first consideration is the height of the heels. If you are the bride consider how long you will be standing during the day, first
for the vows (and a church service will be considerably longer than a civil ceremony), then for the photographs which could take a
very long time. You will be standing greeting each of your guests as they arrive, and then chatting to each group. If you're lucky
you'll get to sit down for a meal, then you will be up dancing, first with your new husband, then you can be sure each of the
male guests will want their turn to dance with you. By the end of the evening you will have been on your feet for many hours, so a
comfortable pair of wedding sandals is essential to your enjoyment of the day - you don't want your most insistent memory of the day
to be how much your feet hurt.
Yes, you want a gorgeous pair of sandals to set off the beautiful wedding dress you have in mind, but do make absolutely sure they are
comfortable and not too high to wear all day. A mid height heel will be much kinder on your feet and easier to wear. Another
consideration is where the reception is to be held and where the photographs will be taken. In the Summer you will probably have an
outdoor reception with most of the photographs taken outside in a garden, or on a lawn. So you need to have shoes you can walk around
in easily on a lawn, it's not very elegant to be sinking into the ground with every step. Slightly thicker, lower heels may not be
quite as glamorous as ultra-thin stiletto heels but they will be far easier to wear for all the standing and dancing you will be
doing.
The style of the wedding sandals you choose is also very important. If you have a very elaborate wedding dress, a fussy pair of
sandals will probably be too much - a plainer pair will probably set the dress of to perfection. On the other hand, if your dress is
elegantly understated, you can get away with splashing out on a gorgeously elaborate pair of sandals, perhaps with a more elaborate
pair of sandals, perhaps with diamante or rhinestone trim, or even beads and bows.
The colour of the shoes will be influenced by the colour of your dress - white and ivory are popular choices for the bride. For
bridemaids a pair of sandals matching their dresses, maybe in pink or blue would be ideal but sandals in silver or
gold would also look good and may be more useful for wearing at future occasions
Choose your wedding sandals carefully, taking your time to make sure you get the perfect pair for you. That way you will enjoy your
day so much more when you have comfortable feet in stylish sandals that perfectly set off your wedding outf |
