Choosing and Wearing Women's High Heel Summer Sandals
| An article from Women's Sandals
| | Womens' high heeled sandals are the perfect choice to finish off your new summer outfit. There are so many styles and colours to
choose from you may find it difficult to decide which sandals are the best for you. Here are some points to think about to help you to
decide which to buy.
Heel Height
The first decision to make is the height of the heels. If you are planning on wearing your sandals for any amount of walking, standing
or dancing then a medium heel (4 inch) would be best, still glamorous and sexy but not so difficult to walk in as the more extreme
heel heights and not so hard on the feet. Also take into account where you will be walking, for example for a summer wedding or garden
party where you may be walking on grass, very high, thin heels that sink into the ground would be impractical. A kitten heel would be
ideal in these circumstances.
However, high heels are not always about practicality and comfort - if what you desire is the sexiest, highest heels you can find and
you don't care how impractical they are (you can always pad them out with the latest gel pads to make them a little more comfortable)
then go for it - choose the thinnest, highest (5 or 6 inch) heels with minimal strapping for a wonderful sexy look all summer,
perfect to wear with your new summer outfits at the parties you'll be going to this summer.
Style
The style that suits you is very much a personal choice. To help here is a run down of the various styles available.
High heel sandals with ankle straps - the adjustable ankle strap helps to keep the sandal on and makes walking much easier.
Slingback Sandals - not quite as fitted as those with an adjustable ankle strap, and so maybe a little less easy to keep on unless the
strap fits really snugly.
Strappy sandals - These sandals have lots of straps with a peep toe and open back, creating a very open sandal - ideal for the very
hot days and warm evenings in the height of Summer.
Closed Back Sandals - More closed in than the strappy style but usually with a very open front. A good compromise between the strappy
style and the open toe shoe style sandals.
Open Toe Shoe Sandals - some of these styles are more like a shoe having a closed in back and a peep toe. Ideal if you want something
a little less revealing than the strappy sandals.
Colour
The colour you choose will off course depend on what you plan to wear your sandals with. If you can only stretch to one pair this
summer then you will want then to go with everything, so choose a neutral colour like black or white, or if they are mainly for
parties then you might want to go with gold or silver. If you are lucky enough to be able to plan a whole wardrobe of sandals then you
can choose sandals in colours to match each of your outfits.
Material
It's always wise to check out what material the sandal is made from. If you plan to wear your sandals every day then you will want to
make sure that they are hard wearing and will last and should probably choose leather
sandals. These also have the advantage of being more comfortable than made made sandals as they have some stretch and give in the
leather. If you are buying your sandals for occasional use then man made will be fine. Rubber is often used for flip flop style
sandals as it has more flex.
