How to Wear Beaded Sandals
Are you looking for something different in footwear this summer? Bored with plain summer sandals and flip flops? Want to be on trend and up to the minute ? Beaded sandals are this years hot favourite, worn by your favourite celebrities. Beaded sandals come in various shapes and designs to go with all your summer styles. Flip flop sandals are a terrific replacement for your plain, boring standard flip flops, with gorgeous pewter or silver beaded straps - wear these on the beach with a matching bikini or swimsuit to really stand out from the crowd and add some glamour or with a floaty skirt for casual chic.
If you want something a little more up market, beaded flat sandals are worth a look. The simplest styles are similar to a flip flop with toe posts and beaded straps, but often have leather uppers and soles which makes for a more hardwearing and stylish sandal, and considerably more elaborate beading on the straps. There are many designs of beading to choose from, you can have small, delicate beads or large, bolder beads arranged in various patterns, or even one large statement bead.
You can choose from various colours of leather and beading for these sandals, brown leather with metal or silver coloured beads is a popular choice and would go with almost anything, or if you're feeling more daring you can go for something much bolder like a bright pink sandal with gold beads. These sandals would work well with jeans or cut off summer trousers, and the obligatory red painted toenails to set them off, or you could wear them with a long, floaty skirt for a casual summer evening barbecue.
More complicated styles of flat beaded sandals often have a beaded ankle cuff attached to the straps, or multiple straps that fasten around the ankle. These'tribal' styles also have many more beads in elaborate patterns and multi colours, giving you a cutting edge style. These sandals would be more suitable for longer wear and more walking, and would look great with light trousers for sight seeing. They would also work well when you want a more dressed up look for a more formal barbecue or party.
Another popular style is the gladiator or cage sandal, with multiple straps and one or more ankle straps, again elaborately beaded, often with multi-coloured beads or studs.
If flats don't work for you and you prefer a more built up sandal, then beaded wedge sandals may suit you. Often made from leather these sandals will give you height and would look great with trousers and skirts. |
